The Laredo Ghosts beat the Glendale Muskies, 4-2, with major props going to third baseman Corey Pryor. On the day, Pryor went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk for the Ghosts. The winner in relief was Antonio Chacon. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Bill Reno was called on to finish, recording his 11th save.
Laredo used a well-timed hit by Darwin Honda to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Ghosts ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
Said losing manager Jermaine Allen: "Give the Ghosts credit. They played a better game than we did."
Laredo's record now stands at 21-27, placing them last in the Stars Conference West Division.
