Lubbock turned a good performance from starting pitcher Juan Barron into a 6-2 triumph over the Little Rock Governors at Reagor Dykes Stadium. Barron, now 8-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 9, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Paul Garcia nailed down his 17th save.
With no one out in the bottom of the second, Men Toronho put Lubbock in front, 2-1, with a run-scoring single. The Stampede went on to win the ballgame.
Toronho attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
