Stampede Get 5-3 Win Versus Montreal
|
Lubbock pitcher Edgar Minero had a large part in his team beating the Montreal Royals, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Rick Ways earned the save for Lubbock, his 6th. The win elevated the Stampede to 25-19.
Jack Feeler had a big run-scoring double for the Stampede in the top of the second inning. With Lubbock leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from 25-year old left-handed pitcher Alex Gomez and swatted a double to center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stampede ahead, 2-0.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Feeler.
