Muskies Lose, 6-4, as Mad Ants Rally

Though he had a terrific game, Juan Lira could not prevent his team, the Glendale Muskies, from absorbing a loss. Portland won the game, 6-4. Lira was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Dane Roberts earned the save, his 9th, for the Mad Ants. The 4th-place Mad Ants are now 25-20, the Muskies 24-21.
Had Jaden York not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, York hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Mad Ants.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Portland manager Will Berman.
