The El Paso Chupacabras weathered an outstanding game by Laredo right fielder Rich Maciejewski to topple the Ghosts, 7-5. Maciejewski was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Picking up the save was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Gabe Calloway. The defeat makes Laredo 14-31.

In the top of the fifth, with the game tied, Laredo allowed the Chupacabras to go up, 4-3, on a Laredo error.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Owens told the El Paso Today. "It's as simple as that."
