Hartford Matadors starter Andrew Severson turned in an exceptional performance against the Laredo Ghosts at Ghosts Ballpark, resulting in a Hartford win, 2-0. Mario Ruiz earned the save for Hartford, his 8th. The third-place Matadors sport a record of 25-20.

Hartford needed the clutch hitting of Nick Morgan to seal the deal. The second baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Matadors on top, 2-0. For the game, Morgan had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We didn't score," said losing manager Josh Miller. "That was the problem."
