Jesters Edge Past Marshals, 3-2

The Baxter Springs Marshals and Joilet Jesters provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Joilet Jesters, despite a fine performance by Baxter Springs pitcher Steve Dunham, grabbed a 3-2 win at Marshals Ballpark. Dunham allowed 1 run over 6 innings. Andrew Rogers got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. Micah Morgan picked up his 1st save of the season.
Joilet needed the clutch hitting of Bob de Leon to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Jesters on top, 3-2. For the game, de Leon had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Joilet manager Hermenegildo Fernando commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
The 4th-place Jesters have won 4 consecutive games.
