Lasers Edge El Paso in Pitching Duel
The Nashville Lasers downed the El Paso Chupacabras, 1-0, at Chupacabras Stadium. Stellar pitching by Pat Higginbotham had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the SC in quality starts with 5, handcuffed his opponent all game. Joel Racinowski was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. With the win, Nashville pushed its record to 24-18.

Nashville used the timely hitting of Chris Van Noort to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Lasers on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We did just enough to win," Van Noort said.
