The Hartford Matadors and starting pitcher Gabe Vincent stifled the Chesapeake offense en route to a comfortable 8-0 win at Ballpark of Tacoma. Vincent, the winner, moves to 3-3. He threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 4 walks. Hartford now sits at 26-16, while Chesapeake falls to 17-25.
The Matadors had to work out of trouble in the top of the sixth. The score was 2-0, Hartford, with no one out. Chesapeake, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Chris Dellinger dug in at the plate, but on a 0-1 fastball, he grounded out.
