Lasers Drop Stampede, 6-4
|
The Nashville Lasers topped the Lubbock Stampede, 6-4, in Stars Conference action at Reagor Dykes Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Nashville pitcher and Brooklyn, New York, native Tom Schneider. David Bernal earned save number 2 this season. Their 21-20 record puts the Lasers third in the Stars Conference East Division.
Nashville used the timely hitting of Rick Joyce to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Lasers on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Tom -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Lasers manager Kenny McElhaney. "He was the key to us winning."
