Odendahl belts 2 home runs in Royals Win
|
Montreal beat Glendale at Field of the Muskies, escaping with a 3-2 win. The win in large part was due to right fielder Mike Odendahl. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winning pitcher was 24-year old right-handed pitcher David Tirado. He tossed 92 pitches over 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. Chase Harriger closed the game out for Montreal, earning his 13th save.
Odendahl had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 1-0 curveball from Terry Droubay, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Royals a 3-1 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for Odendahl.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Glendale manager Jermaine Allen.
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Montreal.
