Jesters Earn Win with Late Rally
The Joilet Jesters overcame a good performance by Nashville right fielder Chris Charney to knock off Nashville, 5-4, at Ballpark of Joilet. Charney went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 times. Reliever Matt Schmid picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Eugene Ricci took the loss. Joilet, at 23-18, occupies second place in the Stars Conference East Division.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 25-year old catcher Jerry Alvarado had a real shot to win the game. Nashville pitcher Eugene Ricci was determined not to let it happen. But with no outs, Alvarado hit a run-scoring single. The Jesters had a walk-off triumph.

Joilet manager Felipe Arriaga commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
