Matt Schmid never let Chesapeake get something going. The Joilet right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Jesters to a 4-1 win. Their 23-18 record puts the Jesters second in the Stars Conference East Division.

Joilet won the game in part because of Sean Heichel. The shortstop ripped a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Jesters ahead, 2-1. For the game, Heichel had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"We came in and did what we needed to do," said Joilet manager Felipe Arriaga.
