Dan Woods, who is tied for 7th in the SC with a 1.01 WHIP, never let the Muskies get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his sinker, to pitch the Jesters to a win, 2-0. The 5th-place Jesters improved to 21-21.

Woods was in the zone, shutting down Glendale hitters over 8 innings. Woods, who threw 93 pitches, allowed no runs on 4 hits. He also tallied 8 punchouts.

"Dan had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Joilet manager Hermenegildo Fernando.
