The Nashville Lasers picked up a win at Lasers Ballpark, topping the Portland Mad Ants, 6-1. On the mound for Nashville was left-hander John Jones. He played a principal role in the triumph. With the victory, the Lasers record stands at 24-16.

The Lasers benefited from an error in the bottom of the second inning. Nashville was leading 3-0 when David Puente hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Nashville in front, 5-0.

"John did what John does," said Nashville manager Kenny McElhaney.
