Stampede Lick Marshals, 3-1
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Lubbock Stampede and the Baxter Springs Marshals, pitcher Mike Maschke was the difference between victory and defeat. The Lubbock right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Stampede win. Corey Alexander came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Gabe Calloway collected his 3rd save.
Lubbock used the timely hitting of Matt Williams to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Stampede on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Lubbock manager William Maysonet said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
The Stampede, at 25-15, lead by one game in their division.
