Pat Higginbotham never let the Royals get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his cutter, to pitch the Lasers to a win, 2-1. Malcolm Freeman locked down his 6th save. Nashville, now 21-16, holds down third place in the Stars Conference East Division.

Shortstop Hector Landa made an impact for Nashville, when he swatted a solo home run off Jose Perez in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Landa was 1-3 with a home run.

"Pat did a nice job," said Lasers manager Kenny McElhaney.
