Laredo turned a good performance from starting pitcher Felipe Moreno into a 4-1 triumph over the El Paso Chupacabras at Ghosts Ballpark. In 6.1 innings, Moreno surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Adam Appelbaum, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save.

With two out in the bottom of the seventh, Alex Rodriguez had a game-changing hit. The Ghosts center fielder slammed a 2-run single off Stuart Hamlin, making the score 4-1, Laredo.

"Makes our job easier," said Rodriguez, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."

The Ghosts now own a record of 18-21.
