Quebec Aces starter Curtis Gring turned in a sterling performance against the Lubbock Stampede, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Quebec pitcher George Kent got the win. He's now 2-0. Gerardo Lozano was tagged with the loss. Kevin Morris, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 10th save.

Quebec used the timely hitting of Earl McKinley to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Aces on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Getting the win feels nice," said McKinley. "More importantly, I had a good game."

At 21-16, the Aces find themselves in third place in the Stars Conference West Division.
