Royals SS Kretsch hits 2 home runs in Win
|
The Montreal Royals grabbed a win, 6-5, over the Glendale Muskies at Field of the Muskies. Montreal shortstop Brad Kretsch hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Mike Banks claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.2 innings. His record stands at 1-0. Tanner Herzog got the save, the 10th for him this season.
Montreal grabbed the momentum in the top of the sixth, when Kretsch hit a grand slam home run off Dylan Diggs. His 2nd home run of the season put the Royals out in front, 6-5.
"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Kretsch.
Montreal sits in third place in the Stars Conference East Division at 21-17.
