No one was more impactful than Jon Fritz in the 6-4 Portland win over Chesapeake. Fritz was 3-3 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Moises Gonzalez was the winner. He's now 1-1. The loser was 23-year old left-handed pitcher Chris Mueller. Pete Mead closed it out for Portland, earning his 6th save.

The Mad Ants got a big at-bat from left fielder Felipe Hinojos. For the game, Hinojos went 1-4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Portland a 2-0 lead.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Hinojos told the Portland Chronicle. "Whatever it takes."

The Mad Ants saw their win-loss record go to 14-20. At the same time, the Tailgators fell to 16-18.
