Laredo Ghosts starter Tom Kitko was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Chesapeake Tailgators, 6-4. Jorge Salazar, now 3-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. Laredo, at 17-18, holds down 5th place in the Stars Conference West Division.

Laredo used a clutch hit from Julio Hernandez to get the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the 15th inning to put the Ghosts ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 7 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Hernandez told the Laredo Daily.
