Chesapeake got a first-rate effort from pitcher Jimmy Miano, who frustrated Fremont hitters en route to a 2-1 Tailgators triumph at Tailgators Ballpark. John Gray locked down his 5th save. Chesapeake, now 14-21, holds down 5th place in the Stars Conference East Division.

Chesapeake took the lead, 2-1, on Francisco Flores's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run came off Fremont pitcher Mike Martinez in the bottom of the seventh.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Chesapeake manager Dave York said.
