The Lubbock Stampede beat the Glendale Muskies, 8-0, at Field of the Muskies. The Stampede got a fine performance from center fielder Danny Emery, who went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2. The Stampede, at 19-13, sit in first place in the Stars Conference West Division.

Lubbock used a clutch at-bat from Eric Barrett to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Stampede ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Jermaine Allen.
