Stampede Win with Late Rally
|
Reagor Dykes Stadium played host to some high drama.
Lubbock starter Dan Wenger pitched well against the Glendale Muskies at Reagor Dykes Stadium. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3, in 11 innings. The 5th-place Stampede now sit at 17-16.
Batting in the bottom of the 11th, former first round draft pick Dae-je Choe had a real shot to win the game. Glendale pitcher Ken Allbaugh was determined not to let it happen. But with no outs, Choe hit a run-scoring single. The Stampede had a walk-off triumph.
"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Wenger.
