The Fremont Marshalls did just enough to secure a victory over the Glendale Muskies, 4-3, in 14 innings at Field of the Muskies. Nobody did more than pitcher Brian Wilkey. Fremont reliever Tim Peters picked up the win to move to 1-0. Dylan Diggs suffered the loss. Fremont goes to 21-7 with the win.

Fremont used the timely hitting of Tony Baker to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 14th inning to put the Marshalls on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Wilkey.
