Ghosts Popped by Matadors, 7-3
|
Despite a great performance by Laredo left fielder Tony Martinez, the Hartford Matadors defeated the Ghosts by the score of 7-3 at Ballpark of Tacoma. Martinez was 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Hartford, now 19-9, has gotten their season off to a good start.
The Matadors got a big at-bat from right fielder Jake Brosius. For the game, Brosius went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season gave Hartford a 3-1 lead.
"It feels good to get this one," Brosius told the Hartford Daily.
