Ferguson Slugs 2 Home Runs, Tailgators Beat Aces, 6-2
|
Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Doug Ferguson, the Chesapeake Tailgators defeated the Quebec Aces, 6-2. Ferguson belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Tailgators. Tim Little got the win, improving to 4-0. He held the Aces to 2 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 11 and walking 2. At 17-13, the Tailgators find themselves in second place in the Stars Conference East Division.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth when Ferguson, who is tied for 5th in the SC in total bases with 56, hit a solo home run. It propelled the Tailgators into the lead, 3-2.
"We had a nice day," said Chesapeake skipper Dave York.
