Montreal pitcher T.J. Harrison had a large part in his team subduing the Portland Mad Ants, 2-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The winner was Harrison. He threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Moises Gonzalez. Montreal is now 22-7, 2½ games up in the Stars Conference East Division.

In the bottom of the first inning, first baseman Phil Tibbits had a 2-run home run for Montreal. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Royals on top, 2-0.

"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Tibbits.
