Nashville's Baker Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits
It was high-fives all around for Jeff Baker at Ballpark of Newport News today.

He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Little Rock Governors. Baker smashed 5 hits in 7 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 17-8 win.

"Jeff was hitting everything," said Lasers manager Kenny McElhaney. "It really was a special game for him."

In the opposing dugout, Governors manager Josh Altier told BNN beat writers that Baker "ambushed" the club.

"Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," the skipper said. "Hopefully, Baker oversleeps next time."

Jeff Baker doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.

So far this year, Baker is batting .333 with no home runs and 4 RBIs.
