The 6-5 Baxter Springs win over Nashville was due in large part to Brian Bopp. The Marshals shortstop was 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The Marshals, now 20-5, have been playing some good baseball.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Mike Jardel? The 28-year old second baseman Jardel stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Baxter Springs up, 5-3. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Jardel told the Baxter Springs Bulletin.
