The Laredo Ghosts got a rain-soaked win over the Portland Mad Ants.

The Laredo Ghosts topped the Portland Mad Ants, 7-5, in 10 innings at Mad Ants Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Laredo designated hitter Joe Chennault. The winner in relief was Gotam Muthupalaniappan. He is now 1-2. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. Bill Reno closed it out for his 6th save.

Laredo needed the clutch hitting of Brent Hauke to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Ghosts on top, 4-3. For the game, Hauke had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Chennault told the Laredo Daily. "It's as simple as that."

The setback makes the Mad Ants 10-15.
