The Portland Mad Ants defeated the Quebec Aces, 4-2, in Stars Conference action at Belmont Park. Portland pitcher Luis Alcoser had a standout performance. Mitch Detzel closed the door for Portland, picking up his 6th save of the year. The defeat makes Quebec 13-12.

The Mad Ants got an important contribution from first baseman Mike Pelter, who in the top of the third knocked a 2-1 changeup into left-center for a run-scoring double. It was his 6th double of the season and put the Mad Ants ahead, 3-1.

"It was a good effort all around," said Pelter.
