DiPiazza Stars in 9-4 Win for Fremont
|
Behind the hitting of Keith DiPiazza, the Fremont Marshalls stopped the Montreal Canadiens, 9-4. DiPiazza slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Marshalls. Tarjei Wiese, the winner, improved to 2-3. He held the Canadiens to 1 run on 3 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 4. Picking up the save was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Jeremiah Porter.
With Fremont leading 5-1 in the bottom of the third, DiPiazza hit a 3-run home run off Montreal hurler Ronnie Miller. It was the 7th home run of the season for DiPiazza and put his team ahead, 8-1.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said DiPiazza.
The win moves Fremont to a record of 15-8.
