McElwain Hits 2 home runs in Mad Ants Win
The Portland Mad Ants defeated the Montreal Canadiens, 12-9, at Oilers Ballpark. Portland designated hitter Jonathan McElwain had a superb performance. He was 3-5 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 6. Gordie Clifford was credited with the save for Portland, his 5th of the season. The Canadiens fall to 7-14 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2025 season.

The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until McElwain delivered big-time for Portland, stroking a dramatic 3-run home run off Ryan Louviere. The game-changing hit put the Mad Ants on top, 12-9.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said McElwain.
