The Chesapeake Tailgators beat the Lubbock Stampede, 7-1, at Tailgators Ballpark. Jimmy Bauer, in particular, was impressive. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. With the loss, Lubbock falls to 13-8.

There was more than one reason the Tailgators beat the Stampede, but Bauer's big at-bat in the bottom of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 1-0 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Chesapeake manager Dave York.
