The Hartford Matadors got production up and down the lineup while beating the Montreal Royals, 14-3. One standout was right fielder Taylor McLean. McLean was 3-5 with 2 doubles. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Terry May earned the save for Hartford, his 1st. The Matadors raised their record to 8-11.

Hartford used the clutch hitting of Tony Perez to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Matadors the lead, 3-1. For the game, Perez had 2 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
