In a low-scoring affair between the Lubbock Stampede and the Montreal Royals, pitcher Jonathan Glover was the difference between victory and defeat. The Lubbock right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Stampede win. In 6.1 innings, Glover surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Paul Garcia collected his 9th save.
Lubbock used the hitting of Bubba Weese to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Stampede on top, 2-0. For the game, Weese had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Glover.
Lubbock is now 12-7.
