The Hartford Matadors downed the Joilet Jesters, 6-1, at Ballpark of Joilet. Stellar pitching by Tony Morales had a lot to do with it. The left-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. With the win, Hartford elevates its record to 11-8.

Hartford used the hitting of Dave Aschenbrener to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Matadors on top, 6-0. For the game, Aschenbrener had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Tony just settled in and did what he does," said Hartford manager Jesse Heugly.
