In a tight tilt between the Hartford Matadors and the Chesapeake Tailgators, Alberto Renteria was the deciding factor. The Hartford right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Everton Jackson wrapped it up, recording his 9th save. Hartford now has a record of 10-8.

The Matadors got a big at-bat from left fielder Malcolm McKechnie. For the game, McKechnie went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Hartford a 2-0 lead.

McKechnie called the win "a team effort."
