The home crowd had a good time watching the Quebec Aces and Hartford Matadors get after it.

Armando Cuevas powered the Hartford Matadors to a win over the Quebec Aces. The final score was 6-2. The Hartford left fielder was a force to be reckoned with. He banged out 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. The winning pitcher was Chris Fuller. He tossed 82 pitches over 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits. Jeremy Carter wrapped it up, recording his 7th save.

Tied up with the Aces in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Matadors got a boost from first baseman George Kinder. With the bases loaded, Kinder saw a 0-1 fastball from Dave Barncord and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Hartford on top, 4-2.

Said losing manager Matt Blade: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."

The Matadors, now 13-5, have been sizzling early on.
