Laredo Wins, Hernandez has 3 hits

Ghosts Ballpark was the site for Stars Conference action featuring the Chesapeake Tailgators and Laredo Ghosts.
The Laredo Ghosts beat the Chesapeake Tailgators, 11-4, at Ghosts Ballpark. Alex Hernandez, who is tied for 6th in the SC in RBI with 12, starred for Laredo. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. The winner was Vasco Toto, who threw 102 pitches over 6 innings. The left-hander was charged with 4 runs on 6 hits. Matt Parsons earned the save for Laredo, his 2nd.
Justin Fiorini, who is tied for 7th in the SC in extra base hits with 7, helped out the Laredo cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 3 with a hit by pitch.
"The credit goes to our offense," said Laredo manager Josh Miller.
The Tailgators fall to 8-10 and continue their lackluster start to the 2022 season.
