Cyclones Handle Savannah, Snag 5-3 Win
|
The Cyclones grabbed a win, 5-3, at Mt. Vernon Grounds, overcoming a fine effort from Savannah pitcher Greg Brando. Brando went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win puts Mt. Vernon at 79-58 this season.
Mt. Vernon took advantage of an error in the bottom of the sixth inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Matthew Bridges hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Cyclones in front, 3-2.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Bridges said.
