Glace Bay Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-2
The Glace Bay Miners have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Mexico City Aztecs, winning, 6-5, at Miners Memorial Park. Miners second baseman Patrick Gentry was 2-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Miners to 3-2 in the best-of-7 World Series.

In the bottom of the 5th, Glace Bay took the lead on a 2-run home run by Jose Garza. At the time, the Miners were trailing 4-3, but Garza's hit with two outs against Mexico City pitcher Mike Pistorio put them in front, 5-4.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Glace Bay manager Carlos Acevedo.

The next game is set to be played for Thursday, October 8th , 2026 at Tony Gwynn Stadium in Mexico City.
