Caird Blasts Bulldogs, Tigers Take Game 1, 7-5
|
The London Tigers started the League Championship Series in style, winning on the road against the Hamilton Bulldogs at Mariachis Ballpark by a score of 7-5 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Tigers second baseman Ryan Caird excelled. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Caird delivered big-time for London, stroking a dramatic 2-run double off Kyle Murray. The game-changing hit put the Tigers on top, 7-5.
Caird said, "Whether you hit the ball hard, you walk, you have a long at-bat, 10 or 12 pitches, or you hit a homer, you're just trying to do anything you can do to help the team win."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mariachis Ballpark in Hamilton.
