Muskies Come Up Short at Montreal, 1-0
|
The Glendale Muskies got a superb performance from pitcher Joe Bringman, but the Montreal Canadiens still won the game, 1-0. Bringman threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Julio Matias snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Joe Bringman suffered the loss. Jerry Cirulli earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.
The Canadiens got a big at-bat from shortstop Matt Davis. For the game, Davis went 1 for 3 with a home run. In the bottom of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Montreal a 1-0 lead.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Davis told the Montreal Times.
Glendale drops to 5-8.
