Wranglers Suffer 4-2 Road Loss
Savannah turned a good effort from starter Casey Thill into a win over the Newport News Wranglers at Alpines Stadium. The Alpines won the game, 4-2. The Alpines, at 72-60, have a comfortable 17½-game lead in their division.

Jim Young hit a run-scoring triple off Kyoshi Kano in the bottom of the second, which put the Alpines in front, 1-0. Young had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.

Savannah manager Ryan Allen called it "a darn good win."
