Sikeston got a strong outing from Keith Carter as the Shamrocks defeated the South Pasadena Air Riders, 4-2, at Air Riders Ballpark. Sikeston, now 92-41, holds down second place in the Sub League 2 Central Division.

In the top of the first, Jake Hoffmann ambushed a full count fastball from Adam Downing and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Sikeston a quick 2-0 lead.

Hoffmann called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
