Sikeston pitcher Mike Reich had a large part in his team beating the Savannah Alpines, 8-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Matt Drayton earned his 8th save in 12 tries. Sikeston is sitting pretty at 90-41.

Allen Douglass had a big 2-run home run for the Shamrocks in the bottom of the second inning. With Sikeston leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from Chris Erickson and swatted a home run to center. It was his 16th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Shamrocks ahead, 3-0.

"We didn't play well enough to win," said Savannah skipper Ryan Allen.
