Heat Take 3-2 Lead with 3-2 Win
|
The Palm Springs Heat faced a challenging opponent in Orono Oaks left-hander D.J. Urbanek, but did just enough to squeak out a 3-2 win in Game 5 of the Division Series. Palm Springs now leads 3-2 in the best-of-7 series. The Heat won despite the Oaks getting an excellent start from starter Urbanek, who allowed 1 run and scattered 3 hits over 6.2 innings.
Palm Springs used the timely hitting of Brian Roberts to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Heat on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Feels good to get the job done," Roberts said after the game.
The next game is set to be played for Sunday, September 21st , 2025 at Heat Ballpark in Palm Springs.
