The Orono Oaks took down the Palm Springs Heat by the score of 5-3 and moved into a 2-2 tie in the Division Series. The largest share of the credit belongs to Orono starter Brian Treadway, who threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball.

Gene Flood, the 19th overall pick in the 2020 draft, aided the Orono cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 4.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Flood. "And not try to do too much."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at University of Maine Stadium in Orono.
