Almost There: Hartford On Cusp of DS Triumph After 6-3 Win
|
Riding the 4-hit performance of designated hitter Tony Perez, the Hartford Matadors got a road win against the El Paso Chupacabras, 6-3, in Game 4 of the Division Series. Perez went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Matadors, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Perez delivered big-time for Hartford, stroking a dramatic 3-run home run off David Holloman. The game-changing hit put the Matadors on top, 6-3.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Perez.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Chupacabras Stadium in El Paso.
