The Quebec Aces got a stellar effort from pitcher Steve Oswald, helping Quebec score a win over the visiting Portland Mad Ants, 3-1. In 7 innings, Oswald surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Mauricio Martinez got credit for the save for Quebec. It was his 2nd of the year.

Sam Foster drove in one run for Quebec. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Foster had a clutch at-bat. Facing Portland hurler Nathan Glowacki, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Aces a 2-1 lead.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Portland skipper Will Berman, "and it cost us."

Quebec is now 7-8.
