Fighting Knights Topple Wranglers, 17-9, as Garcia Shines
The Niskayuna Fighting Knights beat the Newport News Wranglers, 17-9, at Fighting Knights Field. The Fighting Knights got a fine performance from third baseman Albert Garcia, who went 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 4 runs and drove in 3. The win belonged to Oscar Garcia in relief. His record improves to 1-4. Ivan Gonzalez took the loss for Newport News. Niskayuna now sports a record of 61-66.

Tied up with the Wranglers in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Fighting Knights got a boost from right fielder Danny Baker. With the bases loaded, Baker saw a full count fastball from Kyoshi Kano and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Niskayuna on top, 8-6.

"Enjoyed this one," Baker told the Niskayuna Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
