|
Newport News starter Alex Gonzales pitched well against the Niskayuna Fighting Knights at Fighting Knights Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. Steve Gallagher, credited with the save, is now 11 for 12 in save opportunities. Newport News has 3 straight wins, Niskayuna 3 straight losses.
Jonathan Jaramillo came through with a big-time hit for Newport News. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
