Stampede Earn Win with Late Rally
The Lubbock Stampede locked up a win at Reagor Dykes Stadium, knocking off the Hartford Matadors, 5-4. On the mound for Lubbock was right-hander Tim Covert. He played a major role in the triumph. Lubbock, now 8-5, has gotten their season off to a good start.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 33-year old second baseman Ângelo Sedas had a real shot to win the game. Hartford pitcher Luke Getts was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Sedas hit a run-scoring single. The Stampede had a walk-off triumph.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Sedas said.
