Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Canadiens
|
The Joilet Jesters could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Brian Norfolk into a win. Instead, the Montreal Canadiens prevailed, 4-2, in 13 innings. Norfolk threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. Josh Glanzmann earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. The Canadiens, with just their 4th win in 14 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
Montreal got a knockout punch from Jim Wilkes. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 13th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Wilkes said.
